Zig Ziglar was an American author, salesman and motivational speaker who had a net worth of $15 millio. Born Hilary Hinton Ziglar on November 6, 1926 in Coffee County, Alabama, he was the tenth of twelve children. Ziglar is best known as an effective motivational speaker who incorporates his Christianity into his motivational work. Ziglar served in the United States Navy during World War II from 1943 to 1945 and attended V-12 Navy College Training Program as well as the University of South Carolina in Columbia, South Carolina. In 1944, when he was only seventeen, he met his then sixteen-year-old wife-to-be Jean in Jackson, Mississippi.
The married in late 1946. He worked as a salesman in a number of companies and in 1968 he became the vice president and training director for the Automotive Performance company and was moved to Dallas, Texas. In the 2000s Ziglar was still traveling and taking part in motivational seminars, despite a fall down a flight of stairs in 2007, which left him with short-term memory problems. Ziglar died on November 28, 2012 in Plano, Texas at the age of 86.
