The Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show at the Polynesian

‘Ohana means family and family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten about. When you are at a Walt Disney World resort, you immediately become part of the Disney family. That’s why Aunt Wini has invited you (and a whole lot of other members of the fam) to a party to say goodbye to a local girl who is traveling from Hawaii to the mainland. The celebration is the Spirit of Aloha Dinner show, and it takes place at Luau Cove at Walt Disney World’s Polynesian Resort.

Here’s what you need to know about the event:

1. What Is It?

Spirit of Aloha is a dinner show. In addition to an enormous feast (more about that later) you’ll be treated to hula dancing, drummers, and a fire and knife dance. Be forewarned, there is audience participation.

2. What’s On the Menu?

The food is served family style and includes pulled pork, Polynesian ribs, roasted chicken, a salad with ginger-lime dressing, pineapple-coconut guava cake and more. Gluten free and vegetarians options are also available on request. The meal is “all-you-can-enjoy” and includes beverages. Beer and wine are included in the meal, with other alcoholic drinks available for an extra charge.

3. What Does It Cost?

There is a tiered seating program in place with three levels. Tier 3 seating is the least expensive, but may contain obstructed views. Cost is $66 for adults and $39 for children. Second tier seating is $74 and $44 for children. The top tier seating is $78 for adults and $46 for children. Tiers 2 and 3 are Disney Dining Plan eligible for two table service credits.

4. Weather

The show will cancel on some occasions, but only if the temperature drops below 50 degrees. Typically, not a huge concern in Florida, but it has been known to happen.

5. Reservations

Reservations are highly recommended and can be made up to 180 days in advance. According to the Walt Disney World web page, “Tickets are available for pick-up immediately after reservation has been confirmed online at any Walt Disney World Resort Guest Relations, Guest Services or Resort Concierge desk. For same-day box office pick-up, please arrive 40 minutes prior to show time.”
