FREDERICK, Md. (WJLA) — Roughly 120 firefighters worked to contain a massive three-alarm fire in Frederick, Maryland, that caused heavy smoke and power disruptions Saturday afternoon, according to Frederick County officials.
Officials said the fire took place at a historic building, with heavy smoke seen from multiple areas of the building. Officials later said the structure housed an antique shop, apartment, and was used for storage.
The fire was reported just after 3:40 p.m. local time and placed under control at around 5 p.m., according to a statement. In total, it took roughly 90 minutes to place the fire under control and another two hours to extinguish it, according to a statement
Two firefighters received minor injuries, however, neither were taken to the hospital. No civilians were injured and no other buildings were damaged.
