WrestleMania is the biggest show of the year for WWE. It is a place for some of the best superstars of the company to showcase their talents and entertain the WWE Universe.
At every WrestleMania, all the WWE Championship titles are on the line. The WWE World Title matches are usually the main event of the night. Throughout all the years, fans have seen the WWE World title exchange hands multiple times, resulting in some of the most memorable matches. With that said, let’s take a look at the top 10 wrestlers with the most world title matches at The Showcase of the Immortals.

10. Batista- 4 Matches
The Animal of WWE, Batista, has a record of four World Championship matches at WrestleMania. Batista was once a member of a faction called Evolution. He quit the team after some time and defeated his former teammate Triple H for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 21.
He defended his title against The Undertaker at WM 23. When he returned to the company in 2014, he won the Royal Rumble and challenged Randy Orton for the World title at WrestleMania. Batista didn’t have a long career in WWE, resulting in fewer ‘Mania world title matches.
9. Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson- 4 Matches
Like Batista, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson also didn’t have a long career in WWE. The People’s Champ moved on to Hollywood after only 6 years in the company, despite short appearances in WWE afterwards.
Two of The Rock’s world title matches were with “Stone Cold” Steve Austin. His third match was at WrestleMania 2000 in a Fatal 4-Way Elimination Match for the WWE World Championship. His last title defense was against John Cena at WrestleMania 29.
8. Edge- 5 Matches
The Rated-R Superstar Edge had a phenomenal career in WWE. He debuted in 1998 but didn’t find success at first. His career later took off when he started his “Rater-R” persona.
His first world title defense at The Show of Shows was against The Undertaker at WrestleMania 24. His second, third, and fourth title matches took place at three consecutive Manias, i.e., WrestleMania 25, 26, and 27. Shortly after this, he had to retire due to an injury. Edge made his historic return to WWE at Royal Rumble 2020. His final title match happened at WrestleMania 37 when he faced Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship.
7. Randy Orton- 5 Matches
The Apex Predator of WWE has a career spanning over 20 years. Despite his long run in the company, Orton had only five world title matches at The Grandest Stage of Them All.
Randy Orton faced Kurt Angle and Rey Mysterio in his first World Championship match at WrestleMania 22. His second and third title matches happened at WrestleMania 24 and 30, both of which were Triple Threat Matches. At WrestleMania 33, he had his final title match against Bray Wyatt for the WWE World Championship.
6. Shawn Michaels- 5 Matches
The Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels had a pretty illustrious career in WWE. He had a total of 5 world title defenses at ‘Mania throughout his career. Three of the defenses were in the 1990s, and two were in the 2000s.
Shawn Michaels faced his best friend and manager, Diesel, for his first World Championship match at WrestleMania 11. In his second match, he fought Bret Hart in a 60-minute Iron Man match at ‘Mania 12, which was his most famous title win. His last title match at ‘Mania was against John Cena at WrestleMania 23.
5. Roman Reigns- 6 Matches
Roman Reigns is one of the biggest wrestlers ever in WWE. He is the longest WWE Universal Champion. Reigns has been in the main event of WrestleMania seven times.
His first Mania title match was at WrestleMania 31 when he faced off against Brock Lesnar. He went on to face Brock again at WrestleMania 34 and 38 for the Universal Championship and the WWE Championship, respectively. He also challenged Triple H at WrestleMania 32 for the WWE World Championship. And lastly, he has defended his Universal Championship against Daniel Bryan and Edge at WrestleMania 37, and the latest against Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 39.
4. Hulk Hogan- 6 Matches
The Hulkster is one of the most popular wrestlers ever. He is one of the superstars who carried WWF during his run in the company. He was a part of the first-ever WrestleMania and proceeded to main event eight more ‘Manias after that, out of which six were world title matches.
Hulk Hogan would go on to face King Kong Bundy at WrestleMania 2. At WrestleMania 9, which would be his final world title match at ‘Mania, he faced Yokozuna. It is to be noted that the match lasted a few seconds.
3. Brock Lesnar- 7 Matches
The Beast Brock Lesnar was introduced as the “next best thing” when he debuted in WWE in 2002. He won the World Championship at SummerSlam and went on to defend it against Kurt Angle at WrestleMania 19. Two years later, he left WWE.
In his second title match, he squared off against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 31 for the World Heavyweight Championship. His next WWE title defense at Mania was against Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 36. Brock faced Roman Reigns again at WrestleMania 38 in a title unification match.
2. John Cena- 8 Matches
The Cenation Leader is one of the most established and recognizable wrestlers in all of WWE. In his first title match at ‘Mania, he faced the legendary JBL at WrestleMania 21.
Afterwards, Cena became the face of the company and got a huge push. He had six consecutive world title matches from WrestleMania 22–27. He then later faced The Rock at WrestleMania 29, which was his last Mania title match.
1. Triple H- 9 Matches
Despite holding the infamous record for the most losses suffered at WrestleMania, Triple H tops the list as having the most title matches at ‘Mania. The Game is one of the top superstars in the company, having wrestled in a total of 22 matches at WrestleMania in his career.
His first world title match was at WrestleMania 2000, where he competed in a 4-Way match. He then went on to have world title matches from WrestleMania 18-22. Triple H faced Roman Reigns in his final title match at WrestleMania 32, where he lost the title to The Big Dog.
